The "Euregio School" label is awarded to primary and secondary schools that devote special attention to a neighbouring language of the Euregio Meuse-Rhine (German, French or Dutch).
As early as primary level, the curriculum provides for at least 45 minutes of instruction per week in a neighbouring language. Accordingly, Euregio schools strive to bring pupils into contact with German, French or Dutch and with their neighbours in the Euregio Meuse-Rhine from a young age.
At secondary level, the conditions for the label are adapted.
The label 'Euregio School' is a logical next step after obtaining the 'Euregio Profile School' award.
As with the Euregio profile schools, the EMRLingua project aims to expand and intensify the network among the Euregio schools. Pupils of the Euregio Meuse-Rhine are encouraged to learn the language of their neighbour, so that multilingualism becomes a real asset for the pupils of the Euregio.
The requirements and criteria for the label are available for download here.
